Canna-Filter stands above the rest with quality and price!

As extractors by profession and creators of our own American handcrafted press, we have done our research on many filter materials and stitching styles. Nylon monofilament was our choice of filter material over stainless and silk mesh. Nylons higher melting point and being FDA's highly recommended material is key. Having a huge cushion of safety with higher temperature ratings than silk reduces any type of contamination from heat degradation. Stainless mesh filters have the potential risk of galling between the metal weaves under high pressure. Giving the chance of introducing metal particles into the final material. Then there is the potential of oxidation forming on the filters when exposed to the elements for long periods of time before use. Thus resulting in potential rust contamination in your final product. Health and safety is our priority! Next, We have found that stitchless either Thermal or Ultra-Sonic fused can be too unpredictable in seam quality and performance with high failure rates over traditional stitching.

    • All of our bags are stitched with colored coded threads to allow for easy selection of each micron. (25u - Yellow, 35u - Red, 72u - Grey, 90u - Blue, 125u - Green.)
    • We kept it old school with our seams. Stitched seams are by far the strongest seam style too date. As we explored stitches, we found the perfect balance of our stitch amount to Nylon failure! Resulting in a filter with superior strength at the seams without overuse of Polyester stitches. Using less thread at the seam minimizes oil wicking into the sponge-like pores of the Polyester fiber thus resulting in higher yields and less residual oil loss to the stitching absorbing characteristics.

    • Our bags use food grade Nylon Monofilament mesh and sewn with a Polyester thread with Micro Zig Zag stitch then flipped to provide maximized strength at the seams. Saving the extractor that time-consuming process of flipping filters press after press.
    • Our Nylon filters are rated up to 450ºF or 148ºC but we never recommend pressing flower over 220ºF and 195ºF when pressing any type of wash or sift. For maximum yield and flavor at those temps, we recommend a press with more than 5 tons.
    • For your max yield check out our Pre-Press molds  ( Pre-Press molds help achieve high yields and larger quantity presses in a smaller bag. Pre-Press molds are used to mold your product to the proper size removing air volume and compressing material into dense filter size patty.)
    • Optimal surface pressure is 1200-1500 psi at the bag surface to maximize yields.
    • Use our Canna-Filter Calculator to easily calculate how much PSI your press applies to the surface different filter size. Helping you apply the perfect pressure every time to reduce bag blowouts our adding the unwanted tail end oils from overpressure.
